Four Counties Tree Specialists was formed in 1994 primarily aimed at the domestic market in and around North West Leicestershire, specialising in domestic and commercial Tree Surgery.

This is still our main target operating area along with Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Leicestershire.

TREE SURGERY to BS 3998 – This is the national standard that all works to trees must adhere to

CROWN REDUCTION – necessary reduction of the overall size of the tree whilst retaining its natural shape

CROWN THINNING – reduces the density of the foliage of the tree which will allow more light through, reduce wind resistance and can make the tree look generally tidier.

CROWN LIFTING – raises the level of the crown to a specified height by the removal of the lower branches

DEAD WOODING – removal of all dead diseased and dying wood from within the crown

SECTIONAL FELLING – reducing the tree in manageable pieces in a controlled manner to a height where the trunk can be safely felled

SIDE PRUNING – removal of the side branches of the tree to a suitable growth point

FELLING – dropping of the tree as a whole which we do only with the aid of winches

All brash will be chipped to make mulch either on site or in our yard and the customer has the choice of whether they want to keep the chip or not. Likewise all wood that is of suitable size will be turned into logs; again the customer has the choice of keeping any logs produced.

All our chainsaws run on biodegradable oil which is of utmost importance when working next to watercourses or garden ponds.

On domestic and commercial tree surgery and felling Director Roger Lander has gained a wealth of valuable knowledge and experience.
