at Funhouse Comedy Club taking place on 2010-03-10
NINA’S MONKEYING AROUND
‘Glamorous ventriloquist’ is not the usual description for someone who makes a stuffed puppet talk. But when Nina takes to the stage at the Magners Funhouse comedy night at the Lyric Rooms in Ashby, it will become obvious why it is an appropriate description.
For a girl with a degree in philosophy under her belt, Nina’s sense of silliness knows no bounds.
Described by The Guardian as having ‘dark good looks, warm stage presence and deft comic timing,’ she has enjoyed rising success since she started out in 2002.
And her talents do not stop with the monkey – she spent two years at the Royal Shakespeare Company and played Dylan Moran’s girlfriend in Channel 4’s BAFTA-winning ‘Black Books’.
Also on stage is Irish comic actor Paddy Lennox who combines topical and observational humour to bring out the big laughs.
As an actor Paddy has clocked up a pretty impressive list of theatre, film and TV credits. Last Christmas he played Stanley in the Ray Cooney farce, “Run For Your Wife.”
And he has been a hit with the critics.
“Excellent stand-up, Paddy Lennox, is laid-back and charismatic. Vastly entertaining.” Three Weeks.
Compere Spiky Mike said: “Both comics are busy honing their acts for the Edinburgh Fringe so expect nothing less than a top-quality night.”
Tickets are £8 in advance from www.funhousecomedy.co.uk or call (01522) 9525050.
