Stephenson College – Excellent by Design

Stephenson College is centrally located on the A511in North West Leicestershire, three miles from both the M1 (Jct 22) and A42 (Jct 13) and eight miles from East Midlands Airport.

The facilities are state-of-the-art and the workshops world-class. The college is a Centre of Vocational Excellence for both Construction and Motor Vehicle training.
The design and methods of teaching and leaning at the college are seen as examples of best practice within the further education Sector.

The college has a long tradition of working with employers and has excellent links with the business community both nationally and locally, offering a wide range of learning programmes, taking place either in-college or work-based. As a work-based learning provider the college is one of the largest providers of Apprenticeship training in the East Midlands and has contracts for Train to Gain in both East and West Midlands.

We are fortunate to be working with the following companies; Mercedes-Benz, East Midlands Airport, The Lovell Partnerships, DHL Aviation, Volvo Truck and Bus, Nottingham City Homes, East Midlands Trains, Biffa, Grundon, SITA and Veolia Waste Management and North West Leicestershire District Council.

The college achieved grade 2 at the last Ofsted Inspection (December 2006) and is committed to becoming a grade 1 Outstanding College in the near future.

There are many progression routes and the college offers an extensive full time learning syllabus for both 16-18 year olds and adults, and a well established Higher Education programme.
