Welcome to the Mellow Dramatics webpage

We are a large community group producing musical shows three times a year at The Brewhouse Arts Centre which is situated in the town centre of Burton on Trent.

Our shows range from well known ‘box office hits’ to lesser known shows that stretch our members abilities.

Would you like to act on stage with The Mellows or join us as a backstage member?

We have approximately 70 members either on stage, building scenery or making costume and 82 patrons, including the entertainer Sue Pollard.

The members include Coral Gould; a professional voice teacher, a number of qualified musicians, a qualified dancing teacher and scenic artist all of whom give their professional expertise to the group. We are known well in the community although membership does extend out of town.
Amongst our members we have many under the age of 18. It has always been our policy to use and train young people. It has always been our policy to train the members in the arts disciplines and to that end we have engaged the services of various lecturers from the professional arts world including recently; a West End music theatre specialist and an RSC dialogue coach.

Bursaries have been given frequently to the young people to help with equipment and study. Little profit has been accrued because we have spent to improve the quality of our work.
