Welcome to The Haven

The Haven Counselling Centre was established in 1988. We are affiliated to the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC), and abide by their code of ethics and practice. (Copies are available on request).

All our counsellors are volunteers. Their work is professionally and confidentially supervised and all are involved in structured, on-going professional development.

The work of the Haven is overseen by a group of voluntary Trustees.

What do we do?

We aim to offer you space and time to help you explore and clarify any difficulties you may be facing. Difficulties such as: personal and relationship issues, support during times of bereavement, debt, redundancy, illness, stress, depression, sexual or other abuse. Our work is confidential except in certain circumstances which will be discussed with you.

Counselling may help you understand and value yourself more, with opportunity to face the future with greater confidence

Our team of counsellors come from many different theoretical backgrounds and are committed to helping anyone in need, of any faith or none.

Paying for counselling

The Haven is a registered charity, supported by contributions from clients and donations from other sources.

New clients are asked to pay a one off registration fee of £15. This helps to cover the administration costs of the initial assessment session.

We understand that for some people private counselling is not financially possible. (Private counselling may cost up to £45 per session). We will ask you at assessment to consider what you may be able to give per session dependant your income.
