The Crowded House is Ashby de la Zouch’s newest and most innovative concept for eating and drinking, combining a bar, restaurant and lounge.

The first of a new informal chain of restaurant / bars, the former Pump Rooms Brasserie on Bath Street, has been transformed into the perfect place to enjoy fine food and drink, un-wind and catch up with friends, day or night.

Its unique edge is down to artist Anthony Hayes, as it features a large, on-going piece of art illustrating a scene of local residents with an array of high profile celebrities, making The Crowded House the place to be seen in Ashby de la Zouch.

The drinks menu also sparkles with exclusivity, and on a par with the extensive choice of wines, cocktails and champagne, is coffee. Thanks to the newly acquired Sibilla coffee machine, one of only three in the entire country, The Crowded House stirs up the best cup of coffee for miles around.

And when it comes to food, The Crowded House offers variety to please all pallets. Whether it’s something simple and tasty in the lounge or a lavish dining experience in the restaurant you’re after, the brigade of talented chefs will not fail to impress. Locally sourced ingredients are also used whenever possible.

While the bar is above 25’s only after 6pm, the brasserie and restaurant cater for all ages, including children. By mixing modern living with its traditional comfort even those not wanting to lose touch with their office can benefit with free Internet Wi-Fi access.

The Crowded House is open seven days a week.

  • Lounge Bar is open Monday to Saturday, 10am – 11pm & Sunday 11am – 10pm.
  • Restaurant is open for lunch noon – 2pm & on Sunday noon – 3pm.
  • Dinner is served Monday to Saturday 6pm – 9.30pm.

Monday to Saturday
From 6pm with last orders at 9.30pm

The menu is designed to be simple whilst offering variety. There is the normal offer of starters and main course, and we also have a menu page for vegetarians to select from. A number ‘of the day’ dishes are available and we will let you know what they are before you make your choice.

Pricing is very simple.
Starter course is £7.00
Entrees are £13.50
Pudding course is £6.00 *

  • All puddings come with a complimentary ‘shot’ of pudding wine*

(all prices are inclusive of VAT @ the prevailing rate)

We use only fresh produce, and where we can we try to help local suppliers with their business if the quality is good. Our meat comes from Coxons’ the butcher in Ashby, and the veg is sourced from ‘Fancy that of Ashby’ in the market.

We have also increased our variety of wine available and you will find the selection on the back page. Thanks to the support from Bretby Wine Company for introducing us to English wine (bin 10).
