The Clockmakers House
A local service provider from Ashby-de-la-Zouch
Charming and original, The Clockmaker’s House sits snuggled into the centre of peaceful conservation area. It’s quaint but tiny frontage, with its 17th century doorway and beautiful bow window, hides a wealth of unusual rooms, spacious and quirky and with beams aplenty.
Our aim for this Bed and Breakfast is to invite our guests to share this extraordinary home and to experience its history and atmosphere. The original lettering above the front door states that Robert Pegg worked here as a watch and clockmaker in 1793. One of his grandfather clocks greets you in the hallway, contentedly ticking a welcome.
We are keen for you to love our home as much as we do, so we have aimed for high standards throughout. The rooms are furnished and decorated individually to reflect the character of the house;
- Double Bedroom – Elegant and romantic with a Victorian fire place and large en-suite bathroom
- Twin-Double Bedroom – an attic room with a sloping ceiling and beams. Victorian fire place and large en-suite bathroom
- Family Bedroom – Two adjoining rooms which contains the oldest beams and is bursting with character. The children’s area has a nautical theme with a specially built boat bed and a pull down cabin bed. Quirky en-suite shower room.
We use excellent local products for breakfast and cater for all dietary requirements. A warm welcome is guaranteed.
