The News Café

A local café in the heart of the thriving market town of Ashby de la Zouch.

Come and visit the News Café nestled in amongst the stalls in the famous Ashby Victorian Market Hall and sample some of the lovely home produce and gorgeous meals when visiting the town.

We serve a variety of foods ranging from full English breakfasts to mid morning snacks, hot and cold lunches including specials of the day, salads and sandwiches or if you simply want to rest your feet, read a paper, we provide daily newspapers for you and indulge in a cup of tea or coffee with a home made cake or scone.

Children are always welcome at all times and catered for with their own menu’s to choose from as well as an extensive soft drink selection for them to enjoy.

Menus – choices galore, far too much to include here but listed below is some of the wide range of food we provide daily

Breakfast – Toast, including doorstep toast, cheese on toast, toasted muffins with poached egg, welsh rarebit, four combinations of English breakfast including a vegetarian option, cobs and sandwiches…….

Lunch – a sumptuous choice of toasties, jacket potatoes, beefburgers including a popular veggie burger choice, ham and chips, freshly made sandwiches, baguettes and cobs, omelettes

Specials of the day – include some old time favourites such as chilli con carne, ploughmans salads, strak pie, sausage and mash, scampi and chips, mushroom stroganoff to name but a few.
